When I think of "shooting from the hip" I think of just taking random pictures of something I like, but not looking at it until I have already taken the picture. "Shooting from the hip" Changes your perspective on objects, and makes the picture better over all and more interesting to look at. My closer up photos I think came out better because sometimes far away photos are just too boring.
